Unexpected and Completely Appreciated

I've worked at my job for 4 years now. I've done this type of job for almost 7. Some days are better than others and some aren't. Today was one of those better than others days.
We have an appreciation day every year for people in my position and this year it fell on April 5th. A lot of my job is being there for my staff (22 of them) and my residents (688 of them). It can take a lot out of you but can also be one of the most rewarding experiences you'll ever have.  I was reminded of the latter last night.
In the past on this appreciation day, my staff have surprised me with gifts waiting at my desk. In the past I've received thank you cards, posters, Doctor Who items and other miscellaneous gifts. Yesterday was different. I completely forgot about it being HD Appreciation Day until I arrived at staff meeting and received a mug signed by all of my staff.  I had to laugh because during graduate school my staff did the same thing except their mug was stolen from Waffle House since that was where we spent most of our off-duty time.  This year I received a beautiful white mug with many orange and black signatures all over it. Made my day.
Then I got back to business and focused on the many things I had to accomplish that day.  Went for a run that evening and then prepared for staff meeting.
I arrived to find a medium sized moving box with "Stephanie's new apartment in Laurel" on it. I was told I could not move the box and had to wait. So I proceeded to have a staff meeting with a huge box blocking views and lots of self satisfied smiles from my staff.
When I was finally able to remove the box, this is what I found:

For those who don't know me... I love books. I have about 200 TBR books. I buy more than I can read and can't stop buying them. But my goal is to read all of these before I start more.
Each pairing of RAs bought me a book and signed a note about it and/or our relationship (explaining their choice).
For those interested, here's what I had inside:
The Paperbag Princess by Robert Munsch (from Jess)
Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Spendeck (from Jess and Tim)
The Help by Kathryn Stockett (from Felipe and Khianna)
The Beast Within by Serena Valentino  (from Hayley and Charles)
Salem's Lot by Stephen King (from Savannah and Austin)
A Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes (from Khadesia and Chris)
Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay (from Drew and Alicia)
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie (from Ethan and Keith)
Quiet - the Power of Introverts by Susan Cain (from Taylor and Philipe)
The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh (from Heather and Richard)
Women Who Think Too Much by Susan Nolan-Hoeksema (from C2 and Kennedy)
Coloring Book of Cards and Envelopes (from Sarah and Caleb)
Many of these books were on my list to buy eventually. I'm beyond excited to start them and will let you know as I progress.  I love that each pairing put so much thought into the reason behind their decision - that was the best part for me.
But before I can start them... I started Brene Brown's The Gifts of Imperfection. I'm so excited to really dig deep in myself and use this book to figure some things out. I will keep you updated!
